Oaks Day Fashions on the Field Winner 2014

Oaks Day Fashions on the Field Winner

This young lady from my home country, New Zealand, won the Oaks Day Fashions on the Field at the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival title in a very lady-like ensemble. The judges loved this unique design, which was created by her mother. Charlotte shouldn’t be disappointed on not winning the Victorian finals as she has already collected numerous prizes with this outfit( including a Volkswagon convertible) in a fashion competition back in New Zealand earlier this year.

Vintage Look for Oaks Day

The lengths of dresses this year have fallen well below the knees, reminiscent of old hollywood glamour. Floaty hemlines were popular teamed with a modest bodice. Gloves complete the vintage look. Custom designed outfits stood out in the crowd, with two of the three Victorian finalists being in original designs.

Charlotte’s pastel vintage-look consisted of a floral print, floaty skirt and a pink silk top. Her accessories were kept minimal with pearls and mesh gloves. Her pink vintage shoes and delicate hat finished the look off beautifully.
