This season has seen an emergence of voluminous sleeves and I’m a huge fan. There a blouson sleeves, layered sleeves, bell sleeves and flared sleeves out in full force this year. This little dress from The Fifth Label, which I purchased a little while ago, has some serious flare on it’s sleeves. My concern was that, with me being rather short, I’d be swamped by the excessive amount of fabric around me. The dress has been sitting in my wardrobe for a little while, waiting for me to be game enough to wear it out. To my surprise, the dress was so flattering to wear and the sleeves were so much fun to swing around! They just make what would be a simple shift dress into a garment of more interest.
Wedge heels gives this dress a little more daytime wearability. For a night out, I’ll throw on some neutral or black heels. The cute little black and white Moschino cross-body bag was a gift from Farfetch, as part of a collaboration I did with them. I absolutely love it! Cross-body bags are so functional. My hands are free to do other things with, instead of holding onto a small bag.
The size of the bag is just perfect for what I need on a lunch date with hubby, and for many other outings I’ll be wearing it to as well! All this outfit needed in accessories was my long lost Chanel sunnies. My little one had hidden them so well a few years back and we just recently found them. They were pretty new back then, so it’s like receiving a new pair!
We were scouting for photography locations for some wedding clients around the Richmond area. We try to combine a fashion photo shoot with every location scouting excursion we go on. There’s so many great spots for photography, suitable for the lovers of the grunge look or the classic look, but we decided that monochrome would work best with my outfit that day. Richmond is also a great place for brunch! It’s a great place for people watching as it’s a pretty stylish area to hang out in.
Stayed tuned for more sleeve trends coming up on the blog!
