Again, we are seeing the classics hitting the catwalk and impressing the judges. The winner of the Stylish Ladies over 40yrs (Amanda Macor) could have given the ladies under 40yrs tough competition. She was impeccably styled in mod fashion, reminiscent of the 1970’s. The dress and hat were custom made for her. She chose her accessories perfectly from handbag and sunnies to the zebra head around her neck!
The winners of the mens category of the Fashions on the Field were very smart, two of them in Eduardo Xavier designs. Peter Quaann, who was in the top three, was last year’s winner at the Flemington Fashions on the Field. It was nice to see these gents wearing hats. Still no floral suit to be seen in the mens field!
Custom made and vintage glamour
Another three lovely ladies progressed into the final of the Stylish Ladies under 40yrs at this week’s Caulfield Cup. Twenty three year old Melissa Buchanan was one of them. This gorgeous young lady was the winner of last year’s competition. She’s won multiple fashions on the field competitions including the one at Mornington Cup last year. Melissa wore a custom-made dress she designed, some shoes which she hand-dyed and a hat by Jill and Jack millinery. Lisa Xu, of Lady of Leisure millinery, looked fabulous in red lace and her own hat. Elyan Shotbolt brings vintage glamour back instyle with her retro print shift dress and pillbox hat.
There were so many beautifully dressed people at the Caulfield Guineas Day. Even though some of these lovely fashion contestants didn’t make it through to the finals, we wanted to share with you their style.
