how to make your life beautiful and stay inspired

Life is Beautiful

“The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it, keep looking. Don’t settle”. – Steve Jobs

For those who don’t know me, I’m a wife and mother of two gorgeous kids. I’m a qualified Myotherapist (dealing with muscular conditions) and I run a busy clinic. Along with my husband, we produce beautiful wedding and event photography as well. Now we also run this fabulous blog! We’ve got a lot on our plate but we are loving everything that we do. It’s really not much work if you enjoy it. Life does not have to be dull after gaining kids and a mortgage!

Fabulous Femme was created to inspire others to live life to the fullest. What we found was that we became even more inspired to live our own lives in the best possible way. We only have one chance at life and we want to make it an amazing one. Love everything you do or find something else to do! Success will come naturally when you love what you do.

Set Goals

Everything we have, we’ve worked for and have achieved it through determination. Goal setting is very important for us to achieve what we want. We set our priorities and work our way through them. If it’s not written down, it’s as if it doesn’t exist. So far, we’ve achieved everything that we set our sights on. Be careful about what you wish for because if you think about it long and hard enough, you just might get it! Just believe that anything is possible and dream big!

“Setting Goals is athe first step in turning the invisible into the visible.” – Tony Robbins

Make Life an Adventure

Travel is something we both love to do. Luckily for us, some family and friends live in Europe! This means very regular trips for us to that architecturally stunning and culture filled part of the world! With every trip to our base in a little town in Germany, we go on an adventure to discover surrounding castles, cities and picturesque countrysides. We get to spend some quality time together while taking some beautiful photos to share on our blog.

“Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.” – Helen Keller

Travelling gives us a lot of inspiration. It’s always an adventure no matter where you go. You don’t need to go as far as Europe to have an adventure as there are so many beautiful destinations here in Australia. Even a day trip or a weekend away is a little adventure. A couple of years back, we packed our car up with some camping equipment and headed up the East Coast of Victoria. Nothing was booked (try this!) and we stopped in beautiful national parks and beachside camping spots. We all enjoyed that holiday immensely and it didn’t cost the world.

Look on the Bright Side of Life

We’ve been to Paris before, prior to taking up photography and blogging. There were no great photos from that last visit so it was a great reason to get back there! Paris is the ultimate city of inspiration. There are so many fantastic backdrops for photography everywhere you go. Who has been to Paris and doesn’t have photos with the Eiffel Tower in the background?

“If you can’t see the bright side of life, polish the dull side”. – Christina Dodd

Paris was in the transitional phase of summer going into autumn when we arrive there at the beginning of September. It was cold, cloudy & drizzling. The trees were not full of blossoms as they are in spring, or shedding orange and red leaves when in Autumn. Since Paris wasn’t in springttime, we would just bring springtime to Paris. Lucky that I decided to throw my beautiful Alannah Hill pastel pink blossoms dress and a matching cardigan into my suitcase!

We’ve named this photo shoot “Blossoms in Paris”. With photography, if things are not the way you had in mind – improvise! Even on that cold day we found a few beautiful blossoms. That’s the same in life. Make things brighter than how they really are and you never know, it might one day become a reality. Don’t let a few clouds spoil your day!

Dress to impress

Dress to Impress

It’s not hard to create amazing images with a little creative thinking and a wonderful location. Styling is super important to make the images stand out, but it’s not so easy to pack for such a trip! How I would love to have my whole wardrobe with me so that I could pick and chose each outfit according to the weather or my mood! When travelling, we just have to make do with what we have or go shopping!

The best advice that I would have for packing for Paris is to take beautiful pieces if you want lots of photos of yourself there! There’s something to be said about looking your best every day. A well dressed person shows that they take pride in themselves and what they do with their lives. Dressing well does not mean that you have to spend a lot either. Always wear pieces which you feel great in and your confidence will shine through.

Seize the Day

On this particular day, we got up nice and early to catch the sun rising behind the Eiffel Tower. I seriously do not like getting up this early, especially not on my holidays! The promise of stunning sunrise photos at the Eiffel tower was too tempting and it may be quite a while until we return to Paris. It was either now or wait a few years!

“Seize the day or die regretting the time you lost”. – Avenged Sevenfold

Unfortunately for us, the clouds had moved in and obstructed our beautiful sunrise. On the upside, there were less tourists at that time of the morning. We only had to fight for space with wedding couples and their photographers. Oh, and that was for our first photo shoot of the day! Our ‘Blossoms in Paris’ photo shoot was our second photo shoot for the day. This is us being effective. My hair and make-up was all done and all I needed to do was to change my outfit. Make the most out of your day!

Reward Yourself

After our hectic morning, we head back to our lovely Air BNB accommodation in Mont Matre for a rest and shut-eye before heading out again for a sunset photo shoot. This time we were lucky and the sun glowed for us. After the sun disappeared, it was off to a Michelin star rated restaurant for a divine French meal to reward ourselves for our accomplishments.

“Excellence is a result of always striving to do better”. – Pat Riley

We were in Paris for four days and produced seven photo shoots which we are very proud of. It may sound like hard work to some of you but for us, it was a way of improving skills in a field which we love. We want to be the best photographers that we can be and that requires some work – some very enjoyable work. And every now and then, treat yourself to something you usually don’t do!

Take Care of You

The first thing that I do when I finish with days like this is to clean off my make-up and jump into some comfortable clothes. Normally, I’m then into the kitchen to prepare dinner, feed the family and tuck the kids into bed. It’s a strange feeling if I’m doing all these mummy things with a fully made-up face! When the little ones are off and dreaming, I’m on the couch for some well earned television or internet surfing time. After wearing make-up all day, removing it gives my skin a wonderfully light feeling and fresh sensation.

My life is busy enough so I don’t need a fussy routine at the end of the day. If a product promises to save me some time, I’m all over it! That’s why I love Garnier’s Micellar Cleansing water. It is an effective all in one soothing cleanser and make-up remover which doesn’t require washing off. This leaves me with more time for me!  When I feel fresh, my mind is fresh to generate new concepts and ideas for future photo shoots and blog posts which we hope to inspire you with.

Life’s too short.

Make it a fabulous one.
