Melbourne Urban Street Style Fashion

Northcote Scene

Not far from Melbourne’s CBD is the funky suburb, Northcote. This place is a blend of young and old. It appeals to those who are alternative at heart. The shops and cafes will have you’ll feeling nostalgic, with it’s yesteryear charm. Browse through a secondhand bookshop or sip on coffee and watch the hipsters walk past. Northcote has grown a great cafe culture over the years. It is a scene for the younger but has a retro vibe about it. It’s not a place for lovers of modern things.

Urban Street Style Look in Melbourne

Take a walk down some side streets and you’ll find some amazing street art, a great backdrop for your photo shoots, especially if you’re shooting a grunge look or are requiring a contrast to high-end look. Well designed graffiti art is spread all over Northcote, so it’s worth wondering around to take it all in. You will find something to suit your style.

My style on this particular day was a chambray shirt dress (Trenery), paired with nude and metallic block heels (Senso) and a cross-body bag (Oroton). It’s a classic look which I’ll never tire of and it’s never left the fashion scene. It’s a smart-casual look, which is comfortable – perfect for a lunch date or just trawling the streets of vibrant Northcote.
