WWhat a cold Autumn day! It was a good excuse to head out for an afternoon coffee in a nearby suburb. Mailing Road in Canterbury, Melbourne was a great choice. Nestled within this quaint little shopping and cafe strip we stumbled across Xocolatl. The decor is just gorgeous. There’s a huge rustic chandelier and white flags hanging from the ceiling.
I had read about it quite a while ago and when I saw it, my eyes grew big and I headed straight in. This place has an impressive hot chocolate menu as well as your normal tea and coffee. You don’t go to Xocolatl for the norm. We ordered the Spanish hot chocolate, the Chilli hot chocolate and one with Roses in its name (the waitress informs me that it tastes like Turkish Delight!).
We also chose one piece of their made on site chocolates to accompany our drinks. There are no prices in sight so we expected they wouldn’t be cheap! Turns out that the hot chocolates are $5.95 each and the chocolates are $2.00 each. Absolutely divine and worth every dollar! We will be back to Xocolatl in Canterbury, Melbourne.
