It’s that time of year again! The holiday season is just around the corner and there are loads of events to attend. Christmas parties with work and friends are part of winding down for the year. The best part of it is getting dressed up for such outings! With Christmas presents to buy and entertaining to be done, there’s not much left to splurge on new outfits! We have the answer to that dilemma.
Don’t blow your budget
For those who want to look amazing at such events without blowing your budget, do what I did and head to the Uni Hill Factory Outlets, located opposite RMIT in Bundoora (Melbourne) – where I used to attend classes! Luckily it wasn’t there when I was at RMIT as I might have spent more time shopping than attending classes!
It’s amazing what you can pull together without the huge cost. Looking fabulous is not about having the latest items in store, though it’s great if you can! It’s about wearing what you look and feel good in! As I’ve always said – it’s all about how you wear it!
Designer Look For Less
You can also choose to keep up with the current trends without having to hit the high end stores. Have you noticed that white is a huge colour this season? So are sculptural and voluminous dresses!
Even though I do like a bargain, it still has to have the ‘Wow’ factor. This ladylike ‘Mademoiselle’ dress from Mossman ticked all the right boxes. The fabric is amazing, maintaining the fullness of the skirt and not creasing when I sit! It’s got a designer look but is still very affordable and is perfect for so many different events from work drinks to a day at a summer race meet.
Tony Bianco and Novo Shoes are also conveniently located there for a pair of killer heels and Strandbags have handbags to complete the look.
There’s loads of different stores to cater for everyone. For me, it’s party season and I’m really happy with my bargain finds. During my short fashion shoot, I received lots of compliments and stares! I’ll be heading back there soon to snap up some more great fashion so keep a look out on the blog for more of my great buys.

7 Outlet Shopping Tips
How to get the most out of your time at an outlet centre:
- Have in mind what look or items you are after prior to going there
- Ring ahead to see if a store has your product in stock in your size
- Allow some extra time for browsing (you’ll need it!)
- If possible, avoid peak times for faster service and more space to shop
- Subscribe to the mailing list of your favourite stores so that you are informed of their great deals. See an example here: Uni Hill VIP Access
- Stop in regularly as stock changes quite often.
- Stay flexible – you never know what you might find.
