Travelling with kids is challenging. But you also get to do lots of summer fun adventures which you usually would not do. On our recent summer trip to Germany we discovered the Kletterwald / Zipline park (more in a later blog post … it was super scary) and the “Sommerrodelbahn” (a summer toboggan run).
Having experienced the winter version some time ago in Lake Mountain near Melbourne it was time we had to try out the summer version. It’s called the Alpine Coaster and located in the Fichtelgebirge in Bavaria, Germany on the Ochsenkopf.
Ethan had lost of fun and was very proud to go by himself. You reach up to 40km/h on the 1,000m trip down the mountain. A trip was only 4$ and is considerable cheaper when you buy a multi ticket. You have two levers for breaking and accelerating the sled.
We haven’t seen something like this in Melbourne but I am sure there will be a park somewhere offering such an experience (let me know when you know one).
