Blossoms in Autumn
IIt’s taken me quite a while to make my first Alannah Hill purchase. It’s a label which I have always considered to be too frilly for me personally. This coat dress was just too hard to pass up. It’s a gorgeous happy yellow, features an all-over blossom applique, and has a vintage cut. What a Fabulous coat to wear to the races in autumn!
Many years ago I studied millinery with a lovely lady, Sandra Buchanan. I appreciate learning the skill as I can design and create my own hats and headpieces to compliment each outfit I wear, without the huge price tag that couture millinery comes with! Milliners deserve their fee as it’s very time consuming to produce these beautiful pieces, not to mention the creativity required to design them! This white felt hat is my own design. I wanted to keep it simple but added a little interest to it with the shape of the brim.
Dressing for the races requires attention to finishing touches. I’ve styled this outfit with leather Oroton gloves and gold clutch from Collette. The platform snakeskin textured heels are from Wittner.
