Summer is teasing us with random days of sunshine and heat, just the way I’d love every day to be. It’s been a pretty hectic year which is slowly winding down for us and I’m really craving hot, lazy days where I head to a beach with the kids and just chill. We generally don’t like to head away during Melbourne’s summer as it’s the best time to be here. There’s fabulous beaches around and the streets are quiet. Life slows down to a lovely pace here in Melbourne during the summer.
Silky Maxi dress
My summer wardrobe is as relaxed as how I feel. Tight, restrictive clothing gives way to silky maxi dresses – the ultimate in summer dressing. They’re so roomy and light and flutter around your legs when the breeze picks up, creating a flattering silhouette. The silk maxi dress is so versatile! Wear it to the beach with a beautiful sunhat and sandals for easy summer style. Throw on a pair of chunky-heeled, strappy sandals and accessorise with a clutch for an eye-catching evening look.

The Libby Silk Printed Maxi Dress is divine to wear and will see me looking super stylish whether I’m lounging at a beach or at a trendy bar in Melbourne’s CBD.
A beach photoshoot in Chelsea
We headed down to Chelsea Beach for this fashion shoot. It’s one of our favourite beaches in Melbourne for it’s cleanliness and clear water. There’s a great shallow area at the start of the sea, where the little kiddies can play safely and chase small fish. The deeper part is separated from the shallow part by some sandy ridges which you can walk along. The best thing about Chelsea Beach is that it’s quieter than most of the other beaches closer to the city as there is not Surf Club there or a beachfront cafe.
