#DenimDoneDifferent Challenge

This stylish light-wash, double-breasted denim jacket (from Grab Denim) was a fab find at my local Vinnies store. My original idea was to grab some old jeans to dissemble and recreate something wonderful with them. When I spotted the jacket, that idea was tossed out the window! The denim jacket was coming home with me and I was going to wear it with everything! The #DenimDoneDifferent challenge called for a piece of denim clothing to be styled in 5 different ways, so I’m going to show you how I would wear this gorgeous denim jacket.

#DenimDoneDifferent

My love of denim has only just grown recently. There were always a pair or two of jeans in the wardrobe for the super casual occasions, but I never gave it much thought previously. Now, I’m finding that I’m a little more selective as to how I’m wearing my denim instead of just throwing on a t-shirt and pair of sneakers before heading out – not that there’s anything wrong with that! In my opinion, denim looks better when it’s combined with glamorous pieces.

#FoundItAtVinnies

In the following flatlays, I’ve styled the denim jacket with various glam items. These outfits, which may normally be considered ‘cocktail’ dressing, can be worn to many different occasions when toned down with a denim jacket. Personally, I’d be comfortable wearing any of these combinations to any occasion from going out to lunch with the girls or as a wedding guest! Well, maybe I wouldn’t wear the denim shorts to a wedding, but all others would be fine.

Denim Outfit 2

Leopard print is always in style. This cocktail length dress is great for whatever occasion day or night! Patent heels and a black clutch keeps it pretty sexy. Great little ensemble for a night or day out when you want to turn heads!

Denim Outfit 3

You can’t go wrong with a lacy black dress. Dress it up or dress it down for any occasion. I’m obsessed with lace and have a few items in my wardrobe. I’m loving the heavy lace of this dress. There’s so much around for the Spring/Summer 2016. This outfit would be great for heading out to lunch with the girls, a dinner date, or even the races!

  • Shoes: Diana Ferrari
  • Bag: Olga Berg

Denim Outfit 4

Add a touch of glamour to your super casual pieces by wearing a gorgeous top, such as this sequinned one. A pair of wedge heels will keep the glam vibe going, without being too over-the-top. A pair of white leather sneakers would look great with this outfit as well. Great for a bbq, a music festival or a backyard party.

  • Top: Sinequanone Paris
  • Shoes: Seed Heritage

Where is Outfit 5?

So there are four ways which I would style my denim piece. Make sure you take a look at how it styled it for my photo shoot at Heide Park as well. Have a look here.

It’s National Op Shop Week starting next week from Aug 21st until the 27th. Please donate, shop and support your local op shops! You never know what you’ll find if you take the time to browse through their many racks. For those who are not keen on the idea of op-shopping, donate those items which have been sitting in your wardrobe untouched for a long time.

A good way to keep your wardrobe healthy is to adopt the one-item-in to one-item-out policy. Don’t worry, my wardrobe is desperately in need of a cull as well!
