The only way is up – Inspiration!

Get Inspired

Our little blog is just over two years old. Great pride sweeps over us as we look at all that we’ve achieved with it. The greatest thing we’ve achieved with this blog is to document our journey with loads of fantastic photos to reflect back on in years to come. This is a little blog post to inspire and motivate you to be the best that you can be. Inspiration!

Blogging has been an enjoyable ride, pushing us to be more creative with each post. There’s so many wonderful things planned for the blog this year and we’re excited about immortalising our ideas onto the pages of Fabulous Femme and sharing them all with you. Each blog post acts as a reminder of how fortunate we are, to be where we are and to be doing all the wonderful things which we’ve done. Anything really is possible if you put your mind to it! Of course some hard (but fun) work needs to be put in to make things happen.

It’s as if we stepped onto an escalator which only travels upward. We’ve achieved all that we have by looking forward and stepping upwards, occasionally looking back to see how far we’ve come. This is the philosophy by which we’ve chosen to live every aspect of our lives. The only way to go is up!

Whether it relates to work or to our personal lives, we’re going to approach it in the most positive way we know how. Since we adopted this mindset, everything which we’ve set our minds to do has been achieved. There’s still a lot we want to do and it’s only a matter of time before we acquire what we’re after. We’re dreaming big and reaching high!

Three quality traits which will lead us to achieving our goals are politeness, gratitude and kindness. Happiness comes when we practise these traits regularly. There’s no point in anything we do unless we do it with large hearts. Hopefully our positive attitude rubs off onto those around us and inspire all to do the same.

Politeness

How hard is it to say ‘please’, ‘thank you’, ‘excuse me’ and ‘sorry’? To some, it’s never been part of their vocabulary. As a parent, I believe that it’s our job to teach our children how to say these things. At first you accept that it’s coming out of being a habit, eventually progressing to meaning it from the heart. I’m constantly telling my children that great things happen to polite people. Great things are regularly happening to me and I’d like to think that I’m very polite!

Gratitude

Be grateful for all the good things which you have. Health, happiness, family and friends are at the top of our list. Return good deeds which others have done for you. Aim to complain less. Nobody really enjoys listening to complainers. It’s always helpful to keep in mind that there are so many people worse off than we are. It’s easier said than done but constant practise will help you become more grateful and will want to complain less.

Kindness

A little bit of kindness goes a long way. It’s food for our souls. Give, give, give.

  • Give some money,
  • some time or
  • some goods to those who are in need.
  • Support a charity or two.

You’ll instantly feel really good about yourself. Be kind to all, even to the ones you don’t think are worthy. Being kind to all leads to us being a bit more selfless.

Keep everything in perspective. Don’t sweat the small stuff and have fun doing whatever you set your heart out to do. If you’re having fun doing something, you’ll be more likely to succeed. Success is different to everyone. To us, achieving your own personal goals, however small they may be, is a success story.

We’d love to hear about your success stories. Please share.
