It was fun to be able to get backstage amongst all the bustle of models, designers, stylists and hair and makeup artists in preparation mode for the show. This spring fashion season yields lots of colour and texture. Mod is kept in again through the fresh designs from Gorman while Jayson Brunsdon keeps true to his signature lady-like glamour.
Some of the men’s fashion was on the interesting side, with shorts kept short and shirts buttoned up high. I’m hoping to seeing some men embracing the floral jacket and shorts this spring and summer.
There was amazing millinery from Melbourne milliner, Kerrie Stanley. Kerrie’s designs have won her awards and have been worn by many Fashions on the Field winners. There were also beautiful pieces on show from Gregory Ladner, who was inducted into the Stonnington Fashion Hall of Fame this year, along with Lisa Gorman (of the Gorman label).
Dungerees are not my thing, but sultry young Paris Roberts sure makes them look good! She opens up the show looking smoking hot in an ensemble from Honor Among thieves.
