The quality of fashion on Crown Golden Ale Caulfield Cup day just blew me away. There were so many outfits there which I would loved to have in my wardrobe! It must have been a tough job for the judges to decide on the overall winner, but Crystal Kimber stood out amongst the beauties and took home a stack of prizes.
What I love about Crystal is that she designs and makes most of her own outfits (with some help from mum!). She wore a beautiful combination of pastel and mint green, contrasted with white. Her jacket was a Peter Pilotto design and she created the skirt to co-ordinate with it. Her sculptural percher millinery was a custom made one from award winning milliner, Rebecca Share. This was a great example of how to dress in classic racewear with a modern twist.
The jacket and skirt had conservative clean lines which were in the shades of the season – mint and pastel green. Crystal didn’t overdo it with the colours and chose a predominantly white skirt with mint green contrast. The choice of a contemporary headpiece in complimenting colours finished the look of beautifully.
Congrats also to the 2nd Runner up (Holly Wilson in blue and white) and 1st Runner up (Jo Gear). You both looked amazing!
With the likes of Nicole Warne (from Gary Pepper blog) and Emma Freedman on the Judging panel, we knew that the winning outfit would be immaculately put-together. And indeed it was! There were so many beautifully dressed ladies who didn’t make it to the finals but you’re all winners to us! Thank you for looking so gorgeous and smiling for us. We have some amazing photos of some of you which we hope you’ll keep returning the blog to have a look at.)
We look forward to seeing you at the next major racing event – The Melbourne Cup Carnival!
