Winter Blooms

Winter is my least favourite season. It hasn’t been too bad until recently. That’s why I try to fill it up with loads of fun events so that it flies past! Only three weeks until I’m sitting in a German beergarden soaking up the heat!

It was a rainy and very chilly day when we hit the city for the Vintage Walking Tour (more soon on the blog) around Melbourne. We had some time up our sleeves so we decided to do a super quick outfit shoot. I’m not one to let the cold turn me into a funeral attendee throughout the winter season so I rummaged through my wardrobe to find something half appropriate for the day. Whatever I chose to wear had to go with my gorgeous flat lace-ups (as I was not wearing heels while trudging through the city in the rain!) and would carry me through to a birthday party which was on that night.

Floral dress, velvet jacket & Zara shoes

This floral dress was from a German label, Rianni. It had sleeves and fell knee-length so it would supply some warmth. The velvet jacket is by Jill Stuart and the flat lace-ups are from Zara, Melbourne. Ok, so it’s not the warmest ensemble but it’s giving me a fairly stylish yet comfortable look while I’m traipsing around Melbourne and see me appropriately dressed for my pin-up model’s birthday party.

The dress, with it’s subdued green hues, doesn’t seem like it’s out of place in Melbourne’s winter. I’d be keeping my bright florals for when the weather gets warmer. The velvet jacket adds some texture and warmth to the look while the shoes saw that I remained comfortable on my feet most of the day. Silver flats go with almost anything!
