Caulfield Fashion 2015
Princesses reigned the racecourse last Saturday at the Caulfield Guineas. The dainty crown or tiara was perched on top of the heads of many fashionable racegoers, making it the most popular choice of headwear for this Spring Racing Carnival. Some are subtle, being not much more than beaded headbands while others undoubtedly belonged to princesses. This is sure a fashion trend to sweep right through the spring racing season.
Crowns or sculptural headpieces
Although very popular, crowns have not ventured onto the Fashions on the Field runway where traditional and modern headpieces still reign. It’s very unlikely that a fashionista wearing a crown will take out the title of Fashions on the Field Winner, so it’s still best to wear a sculptural headpiece if you want to impress in the competition. Traditional hats are still in hibernation.
This is the trend for the Fashions on the Field 2015
The spring carnival fashion trend 2015 is definitely lace. Lace is huge this year. It’s in the form of modern, heavy and trellis type lace. Some labels which are producing beautiful lace pieces include Thurley, Zimmerman, Lover the Label and Self Portrait. All three winners of the NSW Fashions on the Field wore dresses from the label Self Portrait, which is only available online. I must admit that the dresses are quite stunning but do come with a higher price tag. Minimal Luxe is quite popular as well, that’s simple cut outfits with beautiful textures all in neutral colours.
The men’s competition was taken out by a regular Fashion’s on the Field contestant, Thomas Banda, wearing an Eduardo Xavier design grey suit and brown shoes. If I’m not wrong, he may have taken the title last year as well! The Stylish Ladies over 40yrs was also held and four of those lovely contestants will also return to compete in the final at this week’s Caulfield Cup. The fashion was of a very high standard throughout all the different competitions and we’re looking forward to seeing what’s in stall for us this Saturday!
Melbourne Fashion at the Races – We all love it!
Four very fashionable ladies were chosen to go through to this weeks final of the Fashions on the Field competition. The ladies looked fabulous, all wearing classic styles, but we’ll wait and see what the ladies on Caulfield Cup Day come up with before we guess who’ll take the sash home.
It was so nice to catch up with all the familiar faces at the races after being away from it for the year. It was a well needed break and we’re firing to go for the Spring Racing Carnival ahead. Dress up in your finest and head out to one of the major Melbourne or Country race days! You may catch our eye and end up on the pages of Fabulous Femme!
