So I’ve been wanting a playsuit for a while. As Melbourne is cooling down for winter, it wasn’t something which I was running out to get in a hurry. Then the nice surprise of attending a wedding in Germany enabled me to bask in the sun, if only for a short time. This gorgeous little Playsuit was found at H&M in Germany. This time around, I was lucky to hit the store as it just released it’s new summer range. Normally, with each previous visit, there wasn’t anything which caught my attention or the items that I liked were not available in my size. This time around was a different story.
H&M Playsuit – Summer Collection 2014
This pink playsuit with a leaf print definitely caught my eye. Ok, I’ll admit that the fabric is not the best and the button at the front opens up too easily for my liking. Oh, and I forgot to mention that it’s a pain to go to the toilet as you have to pull the whole thing off! Aside from all that, the Playsuit is very cute to wear and I did purchase a second one in a different style!
The great thing about a playsuit is that it’s like wearing matching top and bottoms without the fuss of having to tuck your top in. You can jump around and play whatever without the embarrassment of exposing your midriff accidentally. Playsuits look great with a pair of sandal for daywear, or heels for a glamorous look.
The Playsuit originated as a piece of lingerie which became a mainstream fashion item. It’s a shorter version of the Jumpsuit. This is a piece of retro fashion that looks like it’s going to be around for a while. I would love to get my hands on a slinky black silk Playsuit for a night out in town!
For this fashion shoot, we made use of the stunning Grosser Garten (Great Garden) in Dresden (Germany) during our brief visit there. The weather was just divine and perfect for romping around in my new H&M Playsuit. That amazing architectural building is the Sommerpalais, which is a feature within the garden. The Rhododendrons were in full bloom and in two tones, making a perfect backdrop for the light pink of my outfit.
Stayed tuned for more lovely pieces which I found in the H&M summer 2014 range. I’ll be featuring them all here : )
