The decor of the Myer Marquee was a little less colourful than that of the previous year – a more Australian feel this year around. The peonies were stunning in last year’s installment of this Marquee but unfortunately there were none to be seen this year. The stylish guests didn’t seem to mind the lack of flowers as they chatted, laughed and sipped away on Mumm Champagne or cocktails.
Amongst these guests were Myer models and ambassadors, Jennifer Hawkins and Kris Smith. Lindi and Michael Klim are some of my favourite people to photograph at the races. They are always generous with their smiles for the camera.
The highlight of the Myer marquee, and maybe of the whole carnival, was meeting Toni Maticevski. I am so in love with his latest collection that I’ve taken on a project to hunt down as many people wearing his beautiful designs during the races.
There were at least four lucky ladies decked out in Toni Maticevski designs, including Jennifer Hawkins in her custom made, super sexy leather ensemble. Lindi Klim was also in a custom made Toni Maticevski design, consisting of a tulle skirt. Check back on this blog for my collection which will be called “Chasing Maticevski” (don’t worry … I will only stalk his dresses).
