We’re going to forgive this nasty cold spell we’re having at the moment because it’s leaving us by Derby Day! The poor Myer Fashions on the Field interstate finalists and People’s Choice winner braved the cold to smile and pose for never-ending photos at the official launch of the competition at Flemington racecourse.

Bloggers, photographers, film crew and VIPs were in attendance. Amongst the party were the ambassadors of the Myer Fashions on the Field, Laura Bramich and Kris Smith. Lucky me pulled up in the car park right next to the handsome Myer model, Kris Smith, and had the opportunity to have a quick photo with him! My equally handsome hubby was happy to take the photo.
Designer Jeff Banks is back again to host the Myer Fashions on the Field competition with the lovely Melissa Hetherington. Both Jeff and Melissa look like they’re set to have a lot of fun during the carnival as we caught them giggling away during their briefing.
Enter the Myer Fashions on the Field …
The Myer Fashions on the Field competition at Flemington seems to get bigger every year with a huge amount of prizes being put up for grabs, including a $75,000 Lexus! There’s no doubt that this event increases sales for Myer during the lead-up to the Spring Carnival seeing dresses, shoes, bags, accessories and hats walking out the door in the thousands!
Did I mention that my favourite designer of this season is Toni Maticevski? Well, as it turns out, there were models in the VIP room upstairs wearing some of his designs! Toni has produced stunning pieces of work for spring and summer 2013-2014. His designs are available at Myer stores. Let’s hope we can catch some more of his designs on racing attendees during the Spring Carnival.
The men’s Myer Fashions on the Field competition is held this Saturday, Derby day. We ran into last year’s winner and always stylishly dressed, Peter Quan Tran. He’s not able to enter the competition this year as he has been asked to judge! Like a lot of other ladies out there, I’ll be watching this one.
